E Is For Everly Socks
Description: W. E. B. Du Bois quote: The function of the university is not simply to teach bread-winning, or to furnish teachers for the public schools or to be a centre of polite society; it is, above all, to be the organ of that fine adjustment between real life and the growing knowledge of life, an adjustment which forms the secret of civilization.
Description: An oval, retro-style graphic with a landscape background. It features a woman in a red top and white skirt, surrounded by a smiling apple, a singing roll of paper, a happy dog, a cow, and a peanut. The text 'DDT IS GOOD FOR ME-E-E!' is at the top, and 'PENN SALT CHEMICALS' is at the bottom.
Description: Overcoming existential dread by embracing the void. Nihilism beliefs and existential dread consists of feelings of isolation, anxiety, angst, fear, and loneliness. Designs appeal to those into existential psychology, philosophy, comics, art, memes, statements and quotes. Don't fear, panic or distress. Enjoy life!
Description: First synthesized in 1874 by the Austrian chemist Othmar Zeidler, DDT was developed as an insecticide. In 1945, DDT was made available for sale in the United States, and although it was promoted for use as an agricultural and household pesticide, there were also concerns about its use from the beginning. As a result, marketing campaigns to counter the concerns were launched, including "DDT Is Good For Me-e-e!" from Pennsalt Chemicals, which included print ads and radio spots with a cast of characters singing about how wonderful DDT was. The EPA began regulatory actions in the late '50s and '60s to prohibit many of DDT's uses because of mounting evidence of environmental and toxicological effects, leading to a ban in 1972.
Description: The end is upon you if you ever even eye that evil elbow! E is for Elbow Drop! Part of my series, The ABC's of Pro Wrestling, these illustrations are an homage to the crazy entertainment sport that is professional wrestling. They are informed visually by mid century underground 60's comics, hot rod illustration art and vintage t-shirt graphics. They are informed ideologically, by the ten-year-old wrestling junkie that lives in the basement of my mind.
