Forbes Field Socks
Description: Forbes Field was a baseball park in the Oakland neighborhood of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, from 1909 to June 28, 1970. It was the third home of the Pittsburgh Pirates, the city's Major League Baseball (MLB) team, and the first home of the Pittsburgh Steelers, the city's National Football League (NFL) franchise.
Description: The Pittsburgh Phantoms, more formally known as The Pittsburgh Phantoms Professional Soccer Club, were once part of the NPSL (National Professional Soccer League), the league that became the world famous NASL (North American Soccer League)! Almost unbelievably, the Phantoms played their home games in their only season of 1967 at Forbes Field. Their fantastic logo was decades ahead of its time, and though it took us more than two decades, we eventually found conclusive evidence that the Phantoms' team colors were purple and white rather than black and white! Remember Pittsburgh's first professional soccer franchise!
