Description: The original company that made Johnson inboard motors and outboard motors was the Johnson Brothers Motor Company of Terre Haute, Indiana. They started building inboard 2-cycle marine engines in 1903 in a barn behind the house, along with matching boats. By 1908, they were making V4, V6, V8, and V12 aircraft and marine engines. In 1910, they built the first U.S. monoplane to exhibit their aircraft engines. Starting in 1922, they designed and built a radical new, lightweight outboard made largely of aluminum. By the mid-1920s, they were dominating the outboard racing scene, and continued to innovate and produce amazingly powerful and reliable outboards. The company was acquired by Outboard Marine Corporation (OMC) in 1935
Description: An oversized serif wordmark reading "Nguzo Saba" is styled like a vintage luxury fashion house logo, listing all seven Kwanzaa principles below like a designer manifesto. Bold, distressed, and unmistakably chic, this design turns cultural pride into a genuine fashion statement.
Description: Journey back in time with this exquisite engraved illustration of Terre Haute, Indiana. This detailed artwork captures the city's rich history, featuring a historical figure with his horse alongside prominent architecture and industrial landmarks. Lush flora frames the scene, adding natural beauty to the vintage cityscape. It perfectly embodies the enduring spirit of Indiana.
Description: Motor Freight Corporation (MFC) was started in 1926 by Harry Adams with one truck operating between Terre Haute and Brazil, Indiana. About a year later another truck was added and service was extended to Bloomington and Bedford and a little later to Indianapolis. Adams would proceed to buy up smaller truck lines year over year until the '60s when MFC was operating terminals in Illinois, Indiana, Missouri, Nebraska, and Tennessee, and maintaining ICC operating authority on multiple routes. Increasing public interest in deregulation of the trucking industry in the early '70s had Adams seeing the writing on the wall, and he looked for a buyer for MFC, finding one in Branch Motor Express out of Pennsylvania.
Description: A stark, high-contrast wordmark that looks like it belongs on a 1990s luxury fashion campaign, until you read the tagline: “Department of Chaos and Caffeine. Est. 2026.” Chic from across the room, hilarious up close, and made for the nurse who’s basically running her own department already.
