Description: “Mono no aware” is a Japanese idiom from the Heian period. It is an awareness of the impermanence of things, a reality of all things in this world. My inspiration for this work is from a story I read about the Samurai Minamoto Yoshitsune. The Koi in this design were from a long stalled work in progress, so now the impermanence of one design is born into another.

Description: Taiki Bansei 大器晩成 which means "great talents mature late" in Japanese. “大器” means “A person of great caliber.” “晩成” means “Grow late.”A person of great caliber matures late like making big pot or big vessel is difficult to make fast compare with small pot. It needs a long time compare with small teacup or rice bowl. So great talents are slow in maturing compare with ordinary person.
