Description: Eagle Harbor Lighthouse is located at the west end of Eagle Harbor in Michigan’s Upper Peninsula. The present brick structure was built in 1871 and is still operational to this day. The lighthouse sits on the rocky entrance to Eagle Harbor and helps guide mariners on Lake Superior across the northern edge of the Keweenaw Peninsula.

Description: Cabot Cove, is a rural village located in the State of Maine, on the eastern seaboard of the United States. Its most notable resident is Murder-Mystery novelist Jessica Fletcher. The Maine town of Cabot Cove is based on the very popular, lovely Maine town of Perkins Cove. Mendocino, in Nothern California, was where the filming took place. Mendocino, in Northern California, was the real location used for episodes based in Cabot Cove, other than the Universal Lot. This explains the numerous times you can see palm trees even though it was supposed to be in Maine!
Description: Boston's Beacon Oil Company was founded in 1919 and named after the city’s Beacon Hill. By 1992 they had opened more than 350 service stations throughout New York State and New England, most of which used elements of the 1700s era Massachusetts State House. This design emphasized the colonial past with its use of the State House dome, columns, balustrade and the prominent lantern which was humorously enough, mistaken for a typical coastal lighthouse. Beacon ran with the greater public perception and eventually played up the lighthouse in their logo design, including this 1942 example. Sometime in the '50s, Standard Oil of New Jersey bought out Beacon and all of their service station were converted to Esso stations.
