Tripod microscope commissioned by Louis XV from Claude-Siméon Passemant. A real technical feat, the microscope rests on an imposing pedestal in chased and gilded bronze in the rococo style attributed to Jacques Caffieri, no doubt in collaboration with his son Philippe.
