Description: Jollibee reimagined as a Japanese manga/anime character. Kanji letters in orange says "Jollibee" while the smaller Kanji letters Chickenjoy. Description: A rendition of our favorite cute Filipino fastfood bee throwing a spicy chicken. The copy “Masyado kang bida-bida” translates to “You are such an annoying show-off”. Bida-bida comes from bida "protagonist, main character" so bida-bida would mean something along the lines of trying to be the center of attention, usually obnoxiously. Description: AMPING is a Cebuano or Visayan word in the Philippines. It means to treat something with care, to be careful with something. Description: "Puhon" is a Bisaya (Cebuano) word meaning hopefully, God-willing, or in God's time, expressing a strong hope that something will happen in the future. It is similar to the Tagalog words "sana" or "sa tamang panahon". The term reflects a belief in a divine plan, where a desired outcome will occur when the time is right and for the person's good. Description: Bawal umihi dito: It is an ubiquitous injunction in urban spaces, often boldly painted onto walls, and it translates to "it is forbidden to urinate here". The audience? Filipino men, many of whom continue to take the liberty of emptying their bladders in front of walls, electric posts, and yes, jeepney tires. Go to any densely-populated nooks of the metropolis and there's no denying the pungent odor of piss, which ironically juxtaposes with the aforementioned sign, as if to affirm its relevance by its violation. Description: Tondo is a district located in Manila, Philippines. It is the largest, in terms of area and population, of Manila's sixteen districts, with a census-estimated 654,220 people in 2020. It consists of two congressional districts. It is also the second most densely populated district in the city. The name Tondo can be derived from its Old Tagalog name, Tundun as inscribed in the Laguna Copperplate Inscription of 900 AD, the earliest native document found within the Philippines. Dutch anthropologist Antoon Postma, the first to translate the copperplate, believes the term tundun originated from Sanskrit, which was used alongside Malay as a language of politics and religion in the area at the time.
