Description: The Pine Tree flag was a symbol of the American Revolution. The Evergreen tree was a symbol of freedom in the North. The troops needed a standard to distinguish them from the enemy so they adopted this flag. Many were hand made and flew as patriots fought for freedom. This is quite possibly the first symbol of American freedom.
