Description: The current form of the Burmese cat can trace its roots to one Burmese ancestor named Wong Mau, who was a female Burmese brought to the United States in 1930. The breed originates on the Thai-Burma border where they were known locally as Thongdaeng or Supphalak which means "copper color." The original version of this cat was dark brown but now can be found in many different colors after modern cultivators strengthened the breed by mixing it with other types of cats.
Description: Alaskan Malamutes are sledge dogs, not sled dogs which is a semantic way of saying they can pull larger and heavier loads – up to 3,000 pounds! Also known as the Mal or Mally, the Malamute first emerged in the 1900s when gold prospectors came north to the Yukon and bred their dogs with local Alaskan breeds.
Description: The name "Collie" can be misleading. In some parts of the world it means Border Collie, but in other parts it means these puppers! This form of Collie comes in Rough and Smooth coated varieties. They originate in Scotland and Northern England where they are used for herding. They were prized by Queen Victoria but you at home probably know them better as "Lassie."
