The most famous of them being Lagertha. According to the legend, Lagertha was a Norwegian Viking shieldmaiden who married the famous Norse chieftain Ragnar Lothbrok. Vegvisir translates into “That Which Shows the Way” in Icelandic. In the Huld Manuscript, it says this about the Vegvisir: “If this sign is carried, one will never lose one’s way in storms or bad weather, even when the way is not known.”
