Skippers 1969 Socks
Description: Skippers was a fast food chain founded in 1969 by Herb Rosen in Bellevue, Washington with a menu of chowder, fish and chips, and other fried seafood. Skippers grew rapidly during the '70s, with new restaurants being opened in multiple western states and British Columbia, Canada, until peaking at around 200 locations in the early '80s. In 1989, growth had slowed, and the chain was sold, resulting in the closing of several locations. Having been largely stagnant, Skippers was would be sold several more times before filing for bankruptcy in 2006. 14 of the 58 remaining stores were sold ahead of the bankruptcy, and after the sales of individual units, the remaining stores were closed and Skippers ceased to exist.
