Description: If you don’t know already, I love records and bugs. This drawing came about a year or so ago when I first painted a record character on my sketchbook. The idea has been haunting me ever since! Recently, I have been intrigued by praying mantises. They are such beautifully deadly creatures and I just love that about them. They look like aliens from a distant galaxy or something like that. Anyways, I thought I’d combine the two subjects and this is what came from it. I tried to give him a color scheme similar to Mickey Mouse to give him a “friendly” or “relatable” quality. Although he looks friendly, I wouldn’t touch him with a 10 foot pole. Be careful if you see this dude lurking in your local record store.
