Spunky! Magazine Socks
Main Tag:

Description: Spunky! was a short-lived Australian pop music and teenybopper magazine published by Melbourne's Southdown Press. Running from May 1976 through late 1977, it featured interviews with international and local stars like Freddie Mercury, ABBA, and John Paul Young, and famously included large "Posterama" centerfolds. Launched during the height of the glam rock and Countdown era, Spunky! was designed to cater to a young, pop-obsessed audience. Each edition (retailing initially for 60 cents) included pin-ups, competitions, comic strips, and extensive fan coverage of teen idols. Despite a loyal following, the publication was relatively short-lived and wrapped up by the end of 1977.
