Stuarts Socks
Description: Established in 1957, Stuarts (formerly "Stuart's") was a discount department store with stores throughout New England (though primarily in Massachusetts). At its peak, there were roughly 27 stores. Initially filing for bankruptcy in late 1990, the chain emerged a little under 2 years later with a second chance. Ultimately by mid-1995, the lack of updating their inventory & sales systems, along with management changes heavily lead to the final nail in the coffin for this chain.
Description: The Stuart dynasty was a period of English, Scottish, and Irish history that lasted from 1603 to 1714. It was marked by civil wars, religious conflicts, the union of Scotland and England, and the rise of parliamentary power. Key monarchs include James I, Charles I, Charles II, James II, and William III. The Glorious Revolution saw William III replace James II as king, leading to constitutional changes and the beginning of the modern British monarchy.
