Description: Ed Bacon opened his western store, Bacon's Boots & Saddles, in Globe, Arizona back in the early '50s, and while they sold all the typical western apparel and related goods, it was Ed's traditional hand crafted saddles that he was probably best known for. With unparalleled attention to detail, Ed hand-tooled every saddle, hand-stitched every seat and hand-shaped every cantle, all to customer specifications. Ed Bacon was a true artisan, creating a dozen or so custom saddles a year with his son Earl well into the 2010s despite swindling cowboys and working ranches in the area. Handmade saddles like those procured at Bacon's typically outlast the cowboys who own them, and most are handed down through generations like a classic car.
