Chemical Leaman Tank Lines 1961 Socks
Main Tag:

Description: B. F. Leaman and his son Clair began his trucking business with a single Pierce Arrow truck delivering lime and milk around Lancaster County, Pennsylvania back in 1913. By 1930, they were successful enough to purchase Mileage Motor Corporation, and began hauling fuel oil in addition to the lime and milk. In 1933, the Leaman Transportation Company was formed. In 1961, Leaman merged his two companies with Chemical Tank Lines, forming Chemical Leaman Tank Lines, Inc. Following the merger, the company had 31 terminals nationwide and approximately 1,300 bulk tankers. Leaman continued to expand through acquisition well into the '90s, and by 1998, had the industry’s largest tanker fleet and most expansive service.

Mason and Dixon Lines Trucking 1932 Socks
Main Tag:

Description: The Mason and Dixon Lines (Mason-Dixon) was an American trucking company founded by E. Ward King in 1932 in Kingsport, Tennessee. The firm specialized in hauling household goods and building materials, but acquisitions such as C. Murdock Lines and Robinson Transfer Motor Lines added tanker and flatbed service and expanded routes. With a fleet of red tractors and polished aluminum trailers, Mason-Dixon was known as 'The Silver Fleet', grew to be one of the largest privately owned carriers in the U.S. for a time. In 1984, the company experienced significant labor problems, including a strike over pay cuts and driver demands. Coupled with operating in a post-deregulation America, Mason-Dixon wasn't able to weather the storm.

Elston Oil Supply 1979 Socks
Main Tag:

Description: In 1980's Friday The 13th, a young woman named Annie is trying to get from the fictional town of Crystal Lake to Camp Crystal Lake. She enters a diner and asks the locals how far the camp is, and ends up accepting a ride from a trick driver named Enos who says the camp is about 20 miles out. Enos drives for Elston Oil Supply out of Stanhope, New Jersey, and is heading out that way, and can take her about half way. He's also the last normal person Annie will meet in her short life. Along the way, Enos tells her about Barry and Claudette's murder, the boy that drowned in 1957, a series of fires later on, and the water going bad in 1962. He suggests that she quit, but Annie tells him that she can't, and he eventually drops her off in Hope, NJ.

Matlack Pipeline on Wheels 1888 Socks
Main Tag:

Description: Founded in 1888 with a team of horse-drawn hauling wagons, Matlack Inc. was based in Wilmington, Delaware. Matlack would grow to become the largest tanker line in America, becoming known as the "Pipeline on Wheels." From petroleum and chemicals, to dry bulk, and food grade product, Matlack Inc. had the specialized tanker trailers and terminal network to help get it where it needed to be. Sadly, after more than a century of doing business, the Pipeline on Wheels went into bankruptcy and was bought up and sold off in 2001.
