Description: Multi-dimensional Adventurer depicts the artist at a portal through the Iron Mountains (Chakravāda-parvata) from where adventure to our inner mandala palace and to multiple dimensions beyond the Iron Mountains is possible. This artwork was painted during the artist’s Sri Lankan stage and was one of the paintings on exhibition when the artist, Tathagata, (Carla Sinclair) won the “Sri Lankan Artist of the Year” in 1995.
Description: Guanyin is a kind face of Compassion, Mercy, and Kindness. She is a manifestation of Amithaba (Avalokiteshvara / Chenrezig) in his myriad forms. known as the "Perceiver of Worldly Sounds," hearing prayers for help, and offering protection, particularly to women and children, sometimes compared to the Virgin Mary for her nurturing qualities, and a popular deity for fertility and safe childbirth.

Description: In the ritual practices of Tibetan Esoteric Buddhism, it is recognized that if the practitioner relies only on the recitation of Esoteric incantations and observation of mandalas, it is impossible to reach the realm in which one becomes a Buddha, and for this, it is also necessary to practice the five forms of meditation in order to acquire the five types of wisdom. When Sakyamuni completed the ten steps in the practice of becoming a Bodhisattva, he also entered samadhi. The lower half of this thangka depicts him enduring the disciplines entailing suffering (lower right corner), the second his Esoteric practices (lower center) and debating Buddhist concepts, demonstrating the path Sakyamuni had to follow to acquire the five types of wisdom.
