The cars were known for their design beauty and for their many race victories. In 1987, an Italian entrepreneur bought the brand name and revived it as Bugatti Automobili SpA. Volkswagen Group acquired the Bugatti brand in 1998, and they have consistently produced some of the fastest street legal supercars on the planet.
