Description: Introduced in 1982, the XE was a revised version of the XD Falcon. Its external differences were restricted to a new nose, new rear bumper, and taillights, along with new full wheel covers for the Fairmont, and 15 in alloy wheels for the Fairmont Ghia. Significant mechanical changes included revised six-cylinder engines with two-stage carburettors or optional electronic fuel injection, an optional five-speed manual transmission with overdrive, and the introduction of a new rear suspension system incorporating progressive rate coil springs, four trailing arms and Watt's linkage on all sedans. Description: The ZA Fairlane series, introduced in March 1967, was designed and built in Australia. The body shape was similar to the 1966–67 US Fairlane sedan, however. Offered as the Fairlane and the Fairlane 500, it was based on the Australian XR Falcon. The rear quarter panels and boot from the US Fairlane were used, and square taillights (sourced from the 1966 USA Fairlane) replaced the round units used on the Falcon. (info from Wikipedia)
