Description: Victor Jara, Chilean activist, teacher, poet and singer- songwriter. Was tortured and murdered on the 16 September 1973 by fascist soldiers of Pinochet during the coup against the democratic leftist government of Allende. His famous anti-vietnam war song dedicated to the Vietnamese communist leader Ho Chi Minh, "El derecho de vivir en paz", "The right to live in peace" It has been adopted by people in struggle worldwide as an anthem for freedom.
