Description: The Aakash • mudra is a symbolic, ritualistic gesture of the hands often used in Ayurveda and spiritual yoga practice to increase the element of space, or the cosmos, within the body. Increasing the element of space, or cosmos, within the body helps the practitioner to unite with a specific deity or a broader cosmic power. This mudra detoxifies the body, eases discomfort due to overeating, chest pain and high blood pressure. It also activates the visuddha (throat) chakra, which governs communication, self-expression, truth and purification.
Description: The very powerful Buddhist Karana mudra wards off evil, expels demons and removes obstacles such as sickness or negative thoughts and helps to dispel anxiety, fear and depression as well as enhance feelings of happiness. It is made by raising the index and the little finger, and folding the other fingers. Used in Feng Shui to protect shrines, sacred places of worship and the home, but you don't want it to face the front door (which should have welcoming energy) or in your bedroom or a child's room. This kidnapped symbol has been transformed, twisted and widely recognised as an inner code of satanic or ‘devil’ worship used by presidents, the Pope, political leaders, and the music and entertainment industries. Clever, eh?
