Foxes while sweet to look at are an introduced species in Australia and pose a serious conservation problem!! Due to its rapid spread and ecological impact it has *classified as one of the most damaging invasive species in Australia*. Foxes are killing machines and a huge problem to native species and farm animals. A plethora of different species make this place home. Our vineyard dog gave chase to this cub. Keeping chickens is difficult with foxes about... despite efforts to fence them in we have lost our chooks more than once....these animals do not just kill for food but slaughter anything in their wake.. European red foxes (Vulpes vulpes) were introduced into Australia in the mid nineteenth century by colonial huntsmen...

This drawing was the second with a medical theme. It was one of two drawings made as a thought process..... the subsequent oil painting more literal in content was exhibited in an exhibition in Sydney entitled "Healing Hands". I was working on a private commission for an orthopedic surgeon - when the exhibition "Healing Hands" came up... he allowed me to join him and the medical team during a couple of cases at St Andrews hospital in South Australia This theme what was to become two major projects. The first a 42 piece collection focusing on staff in theatre at Flinders Hospital Then a residency at Adelaide University School of Medicine in which 59 luminaries were painted and drawn at work..... in separate paintings and drawings...
