The 1970s were the heyday of bicycle culture for boys, and nothing was cooler than a muscle bike with a banana seat, sissy bar, and ape hanger handlebars. We rode our bikes with reckless abandon, popping wheelies and leaving skid marks on the pavement. Bike stunts were the norm, and we pushed each other to be more daring, more fearless. We formed neighborhood bike gangs, daring each other to perform the most outrageous tricks and races. And let's not forget about the no-helmet rule - safety was not a priority back then. It was a time of daredevils and risk-taking, of BMX and Stingray bikes. Bike accessories were all the rage, from playing cards in the spokes to cool reflectors and streamers. Good times!
