The 1920 Summer Olympics, officially known as the Games of the VII Olympiad, was held in .... Antwerp Belgium but was initially awarded to Budapest, Hungary. In 1919 the 1920 Games were switched to Antwerp as Hungary was not welcome to participate after WWI. Outside the Olympic Stadium Budapest (which was built for the awarded games) are a series of statues for sports that the Hungarians thought were strong sports for the home nation. On my first visit, the weather was dull and damp but I recorded each of the static tableaux wondering at the costumes, earnest effort and the sports themselves (country dancing?) included.
