Winter Sets-in Around the Old Barn Sticker

This image is of a old barn I encountered near Grand Bend, Ontario. It was just after early snow in late autumn with the crops just recently taken from the fields. I was struck by the isolation, the lonely barn surrounded by wintry fields. I suppose it's a dutch barn judging by the roof line, but I could stand corrected. Regardless of its architectural heritage, its simple design and sturdiness are a testament to those who put it up. Nevertheless, time and the weather are taking their toll, as evidenced by the rust patina in the roof and sides. But still the old barn soldiers on, fulfilling its duty.
