Mikhail Bulgakov Sticker

Mikhail Bulgakov was a recognized writer and playwright of the USSR, but he was labeled as counter-revolutionary. That usually meant exile, labor camps, and death. Bulgakov lived, but his best work remained unpublished for many years. Novel The Master and Margarita combines narratives from the New Testament with the contemporary Soviet Union, the Devil himself walks the streets of Moscow. The book was finally published in 1966, twenty-six years after the writer's death. It is one of the masterpieces of the twentieth century.
