Anapai Bay is up there in the most amazing places I've ever camped! We had the entire beach almost to ourselves, a beautiful sunset, sunrise and even a pod of dolphins! Painting this was a little bit crazy in strong winds!

Hamelin Bay in the South West of Western Australia is a pretty incredible place. The beaches are stunning, a perfect place for snorkelling and swimming. Every afternoon you can hand feed giant stingrays. This shot is a long exposure on sunset of the remains of the old jetty. The old Hamelin Bay Jetty was destroyed by a cyclone that came through decades ago.

This is a view of Waipio Bay, on the Big Island of Hawaii, as a storm passed by. I like that I was able to get a glimmer of sunlight on the hills of the Kohala Forrest Reserve across the Waipio Valley. And the speck above the cliffs isn't dirt on the lens. Look closely and you'll notice it's a dragonfly that was hovering around as I photographed. No doubt it was feeding on the mosquitoes, which had been feeding on me the whole trip. Now that's life in the food chain. Taken in May, 2012, with a Pentax K5.

Druridge Bay in Northumberland is seven miles of beautiful beach between Cresswell in the south and Amble in the north and is almost deserted for much of the year. This image was taken on an overcast August morning looking south towards the village of Cresswell and the blue/grey sky was reflected on the calm waters of the North Sea. A small flock of seagulls were resting on the mirror like surface.

September sunshine on the sand dunes at Druridge Bay in Northumberland on the North East coast of England but with dark threatening clouds out over the North Sea suggesting that rain is on its way.

This image was shot at Seaton Sluice in Northumberland on the North East coast of England, looking south over Collywell Bay towards St Mary's Island which can be spotted on the horizon on a sunny but breezy June morning.

Stormy skies over Collywell Bay, Seaton Sluice in Northumberland on the North East coast of England. The waves lead the eye towards St Mary's Island and lighthouse on the horizon and the sea stack known as Charley's Garden can be seen in the bay. The image has been converted to monochrome to emphasise the drama of the scene.

The sandy bay at Cullercoats in the North East of England is enclosed by two small piers and was once a thriving fishing village in the early 1800s and is now home to the Dove Marine Laboratory (Newcastle University) and an RNLI Lifeboat station. This image was taken from the North end of the bay on a cold October morning with the sun just showing over the headland looking towards Tynemouth.

A beautiful clear blue Northumbrian sky and the soft sands of Druridge Bay made for a perfect May spring morning. Just the sky and the sand produce something which is both simple and beautiful at the same time.

Cullercoats Bay on the North East coast of England on a cold December morning just before sunrise. The golden sky was reflected in the North Sea and the silhouettes of Tynemouth Pier and the Priory can be seen on the horizon with photographers on the pier, dog walkers on the beach and a hardy group of swimmers in the water. brrr!
