Description: The Celtic Cross is one of the most popular and enduring symbols of Celtic identity and culture. In the Dark Ages, as the Celtic populations of Britain and Ireland were converted to Christianity, they brought some of their older, pre-Christian style to the symbols of Christianity. What was born was the Celtic Cross. A unique blend of the Old Celtic religion and the new Christian religion.
Description: There are a few things that Scotland is known for, apart from our awesome accents and good whisky. One of these is the intricate knotwork that was carved into stones by the Picts and Celts. Much of this artwork was couple by depictions of animals, and this was the main inspiration behind this design. With two unicorns (Scotland's national animal), each morphing into knotwork at the bottom, before joining and curling around each other to form a heart and upside down triquetra before ending in a thistle, which is Scotland national flower. This design was very much inspired by my love for Scotland, the culture, and the history.
Description: It’s the busiest time of the year, HARVEST! The days are slowly getting shorter. The smell in the air starts to change. It’s becoming cooler at night. Summer is winding down. The Oak King is aging, and the Holly King is becoming stronger. The Holly king is waiting patiently for his strength to return so that he may challenge the Oak King on Samhain (Halloween), and DEFEAT him, thereby ushering in winter. So you must stay busy. Harvest your crops and store them in preparation for the winter ahead. There’s still time. Hard work during the Harvest will be rewarded.
Description: “Celtic War Machine” is an image depicting several implements of Celtic warfare including the mighty chariot, sword, spears, and the CARNYX (Celtic war trumpet). The Celts were known to go into battle riding chariots. The use of chariots in battle continued on in the British Isles long after their use had ceased in other parts of the world making the chariot a symbol for Celtic warfare along with the Carnyx, a tall trumpet instrument unique to the Celts used to intimidate opponents and inspire their troops. The horned helmets on the horses are based on actual archaeological finds. Imagine the image a Celtic charioteer being hauled into battle by two horned horses accompanied by a deafening blaring of war trumpets!

Description: What I love about the Celtic style is that it conveys a sense of mystery. Like the artwork depicts something ancient and lost to time and history. That's why I think the Krampus is a perfect character to be portrayed in a Celtic style. The history of Krampus, as with most folklore, is shrouded in a past that isn't totally clear, and yet, it's presence continues to be known into contemporary times. This version, to me, looks kind of like a Tarot card. It's more simplistic and two-dimensional, but it's meaning implies centuries of history and hidden meaning.
Description: I did this bull elk in what could be called a Neo-Celtic or Neo-Nordic style. The stippling and knots are more traditional, but the image has a modern edginess to it. Elk and other antlered species have been a popular archetype representing strength, power, and virility going back to ancient times.
Description: The heartbeat of the ancient gods: A magical Celtic frame. An ornate, Celtic-inspired frame with complex knot patterns in gold and brown tones. A spade-shaped ornament with a knot is located at the top, and a heart-shaped knot is located at the bottom, flanked by vibrant orange and red flowers. The design combines tradition, strength, and vitality.

Description: Celtic elegance with a heart and wings. An elegant, decorative frame characterized by Celtic knotwork. A vibrant red heart stands out as a central element at the bottom of the design. Within the heart is a Celtic knot symbol, symbolizing connection and protection. The heart is flanked by dark, feathered wings, giving it a majestic and protective appearance. Delicate peach blossoms with yellow centers are arranged on either side of the heart.
Description: This is an artistic rendition of a clan of Celtic warriors on the march to battle! I leave it open to interpretation what tribe of Celts these guys are. They could be Gauls or Britons on the march to kick some Roman butt. They could be Picts on the march to battle with invading Saxons. They could be Gaels looking to put down a rival clan. Regardless of how you see it, the ogham inscription at the center sews a common thread among all interpretations. It reads, “VICTORY!”
Description: The banshee (bean sí in Irish) is a ghoulish figure from ancient Celtic fairy lore. She is said to appear as an omen of death, wailing and crying outside of the home for a loved one in the house who is soon to die. She is a pretty terrifying figure. Legend has it that the banshee only wails for five different Irish families. I am a descendant of one of those five families, so I felt compelled to portray this wailing wench in all her spooky glory!
