Description: He was born in Montevideo as Isidore Ducasse, was a French national, son of a consular officer. His father sent him to Paris to attend high school. After that, he studied at École Polytechnique. Young Isidore liked to read Charles Baudelaire and Edgar Allan Poe. He died at the age of 24 but published two collections of poetry (Poésies and Les Chants de Maldoror). The books did not make any impact, but almost half a century later, he was discovered by surrealists and praised for his innovations. The legend continues.
