Description: Cuesta Verde is a fictional planned housing community located in Southern California. It is the main setting for Poltergeist (1982) and a desolate, abandoned version of it appears in Poltergeist II: The Other Side. The Freeling family household was among the first houses built in the community. The entire site sits atop a semi-relocated cemetery, as well as the final resting place of Henry Kane's cult.

Tobe Hooper and Steven Spielberg understood that nothing is scarier than something awful happening in a perfectly normal house on a perfectly normal street.
