Wait, what? Because everything is bigger in Texas, at some point, somebody decided to build what was the world's largest skatepark in Carrollton - the Free Flight Skatepark. It was larger than anything California had to offer at the time and drew skaters in from coast-to-coast to experience the new park. From what we can see, the park ran for at least a decade, as there are records of events, competitions, and contest results into the early '80s before the trail goes cold.
