Fundraising Stickers
Description: “Special Rescue Operation for a Nation Under Siege, 5707 (Tav-Shin-Zayin.)” “Shoulder to Shoulder to Help the Nation!” (Hebrew.) This is a 1947 fundraising poster promoting Aliyah (immigration) to Eretz Israel as part of the Special Project for the People Under Siege. Published by the Mobilization and Rescue Fund. Designed by Franz Krausz. Public domain, via PPPA. Franz Krausz (1905-1998) was one of Israel’s most accomplished poster artists. Austrian-born, he made Aliyah to Tel Aviv in 1934. The poster is a lithographic print. Using a variety of graphic design tools, I created a restored and enlarged reproduction of this historical Israeli poster, based on a rare photo of the original poster in an archive.
