Those DAM Farodolites! - Giant Robo-Monsters - Pete Coe's Detroit Kaiju Series Sticker
by DetroitKaiju
$3.15 $3.50
Description: Released in Japan in 1982 by toy manufacturer Popy, Techno Robo Compoboy was one of the more bizarre and wonderfully inventive transforming robot toys of the early '80s. Capitalizing on Japan's booming home stereo market and growing fascination with robots, Compoboy took the unlikely concept of a high-end component stereo system and turned it into a mechanical warrior. The elaborate plastic toy featured an assortment of miniature audio equipment, including speakers, cassette decks, reel-to-reel tape recorders, amplifiers, and a turntable, that could be assembled into a humanoid robot. Despite its convincing appearance, none of the audio components actually worked, but that didn't make the concept any less awesome.
