During the Civil War units saw service throughout Virginia and was at Manila during the Spanish-American War... and fought insurgents during the Philippine Insurrection. The unit served throughout Europe in WWII, saw service throughout the entirety of the Korean War and earned a Presidential Citation for the Inchon landings.
