While visiting Paris back in 2013, I had the pleasure of visiting the Louvre twice; once at night and once in the morning. Various night images are available in my portfolio here. This is the first of a few shots taken during my second visit in the morning. The Louvre, originally a royal palace but now the world's most famous museum, is a must-visit for anyone with a slight interest in art. Approximately 38,000 objects from prehistory to the 21st century are exhibited. The museum is housed in the Louvre Palace, originally built as a fortress in the late 12th century under Philip II. Remnants of the fortress are visible in the basement of the museum. Wherever you turn your head at the Louvre, inside or outside, there is always something to intrigue the senses. Whether it is the paintings, the statues, the carvings, the reliefs, the artifacts, the architecture, the ceilings, the windows, the doors, the foyers, the courtyards, you name it. If you are a photographer and enjoy a bit of art and history and architecture, this is the place to be. After spending 2 days and 3 nights at the Louvre, unfortunately the time has come to visit other places in Paris. Just as a side note, I went back to visit the Louvre in 2016 with a different photography mission. You will have to wait quite a bit for those images to be processed and posted.
