This minimalist image was taken on a cold January morning from the beach at Blyth in Northumberland just as the sun was showing over the horizon giving the image an orange and red glow against the almost silver colour of the North Sea. The beautiful sky was reflected in the wet sand and there is also a glimpse of St Mary's Lighthouse on the horizon.

Strong winds and rough seas at the end of February produced some spectacular sights as the waves crashed against the piers protecting the mouth of the River Blyth at the entrance to the Port of Blyth in Northumberland on the North East coast of England.

Tommy now sits proudly on the seafront of Seaham Harbour, County Durham, England. The name given to the artwork is "Eleven Oh One" and relates to the Armistice at the end of the First World War. The sculpture is of a British soldier of World war One, known as Tommies, here Tommy has his head bowed......Is he fired of the futility of war, or remembering his fallen comrades?

November sunrise at the mouth of the River Blyth in Northumberland on the North East coast of England. The image was taken from the old Wooden Pier which together with Cambois Pier and its lighthouse, guard the river mouth. The sun is about to rise over the horizon and there is also a silhouetted ship making its way into port.

This image was taken from Blyth beach in Northumberland, looking south towards St Mary's Island and lighthouse which can be spotted on the horizon. It was just after sunrise on a cold December morning, but the colours from the sky reflected beautifully in the wet sand and the waves took on a copper coloured glow in the early light.
