Description: Treasure Island is a pirate adventure story by Scottish author Robert Louis Stevenson. It was originally published in 1882 and it is often credited with launching the pirate adventure genre that remains popular today. One of the major settings in the book is the Admiral Benbow Inn where protagonist Jim Hawkins lives with his mother and father before and after his adventure. His father owns the inn, but later dies, leaving Jim and his mother to keep the inn running. The inn is Jim's home, and it initially represents a safe place. However, the arrival of several dangerous pirates turns Jim's life upside down. The Admiral Benbow in Treasure Island is the setting of the first six chapters of the story.
Description: Calico Jack’s Public House opened their doors in Falmouth, Jamaica way back in 1763, though at the time of their opening, the establishment was simply called The Falmouth Public House. The tavern was allegedly founded by the son of famed pirate, John "Jack" Rackham, more commonly known as Calico Jack. W. Calvin Bonny was the offspring of Calico Jack and Anne Bonny, one of the few female pirates in recorded history. The spoils of her piracy days under Calico Jack are what afforded Calvin to return to the bustling port of Falmouth and open his tavern that would pass to his son and then grandson before being renamed Calico Jack’s Public House some time in the 1800s after the reality of piracy had been transposed with romance and excitement.
Description: A pirate ship shirt typically features a design that pays homage to the Golden Age of Piracy, with imagery such as skull and crossbones, anchors, treasure chests, and of course, a pirate ship. The shirt is often made from durable materials and may have a distressed or weathered appearance to add to its rugged aesthetic. It's a popular choice for fans of pirate culture, as well as those who want to add a bit of adventure and edge to their wardrobe.
