Description: W. E. B. Du Bois quote: The function of the university is not simply to teach bread-winning, or to furnish teachers for the public schools or to be a centre of polite society; it is, above all, to be the organ of that fine adjustment between real life and the growing knowledge of life, an adjustment which forms the secret of civilization.
Description: No matter if you're an English student, an English teacher, or in any work setup, this applies perfectly. We all spend a huge portion of our days writing detailed instructions or guidelines. You carefully outline the project steps, the grading rubric, or the daily task list in clear sentences. Then, five minutes later, someone asks a question that was already answered in the second paragraph of your text. You take a deep breath, type out those famous four words, and hit send. It is the ultimate professional passive aggression. It translates to a friendly reminder that reading comprehension is a fundamental skill that everyone should practice more often to save everybody a lot of precious time and energy anyway every day.
Description: This applies to most jobs, including English teachers and English students. It constitutes a perfectly universal reality for people of all ages who study or work at anything. Grouping the exact audiences: employees at any job suffer from this. Pupils of any subject struggle here. Educators of any subject battle this. English students constantly do this. English teachers absolutely dread this too. Sometimes a demanding formal correspondence sits quietly on our daily agenda. Rather than letting our frustration out, we repeatedly type highly courteous phrases. The sheer absurdity of sending warm regards while expressing intense physical annoyance highlights our incredibly hilarious professional communication habits surely.
Description: Everyone knows this is for most jobs, including English teachers and English students. It is a fully universal fact for all the humans of all ages who study or work at anything. Separating the five categories: people working at any job clearly suffer from this panic. Pupils of any subject struggle with this. Educators of any subject battle this daily. Before we finally pick up the active receiver, we silently practice our friendly tone repeatedly to ensure we sound totally professional and not completely overwhelmed by the interaction.
