Tagalog Republic (Filipino: Republika ng Katagalugan, more precisely "Republic of the Tagalog Nation/People"; Spanish: República Tagala) is a term used to refer to two revolutionary governments involved in the Philippine Revolution against the Spanish Empire and the Philippine-American War. Its leader was one of the national heroes, Andres Bonifacio. The letter "I" in the middle is in "alibata" or ancient Tagalog script, and represents the letter "K," symbolizing "Kalayaan" or "freedom." Philippine adobo is a popular Filipino dish and cooking process in Philippine cuisine that involves meat, seafood, or vegetables marinated in vinegar, soy sauce, garlic, bay leaves, and black peppercorns, which is browned in oil, and simmered in the marinade.

Lechon, derived from a Spanish word for roasted suckling pig is one of the most popular dishes in the Philippines. The slowly-roasted suckling pig is usually stuffed with lemongrass, tamarind, garlic, onions, and chives, and is then roasted on a large bamboo spit over an open fire. Due to its price, this delicacy is usually reserved for special occasions like weddings, fiestas, birthdays, etc.

“Bahala na” (bah-hah-la nah) is a Filipino expression used to express an attitude of optimistic acceptance or fatalistic resignation in an uncertain or difficult situations. In the Philippines the fatalistic attitude is reflective of the Catholicism of the Filipino people, who entrust their fate in the hands of God. Many times bahala na is a saying that expresses a mentality that despite one's free will, one cannot do anything about the larger existing circumstances of their situation. The term “baybayin” comes from the Tagalog root word baybay, which means “to spell.” When the Spaniards arrived in the Philippine archipelago, they observed that most of the natives, not just the elite, could read and write. The script was used not only to record but also to write poetry, incantations, and letters. This shirt says “maganda’” the Filipino word for beautiful.

A barangay tanod means a brigade or body composed of civilian volunteers, duly created at the barangay level, to assist the barangay officials in the effective exercises of law enforcement for the maintenance of peace and order and the promotion of public safety. This design is similar to what they wear as caps and shirts when on duty. This design was intro’d to the Pinoy popculture by Filipino vlogger Ninong Ry when he started wearing a cap with it in his videos.

A very Filipino take on a trending bag from Thailand. “Anong gentle gentle?” is a popular quote from a Tagalog dubbed anime show that was shown in the Philippines in the 90s called Gost Fighter, where Taguro passive-aggressively says the line to Eugene. Recently, it has risen to meme status, usually used when you’re so stressed and you just don’t want to baby people anymore.

“Maldita” is a Filipino noun that means a bitch; snob. [adjective] bitchy, snobby, sharp-tongued, rude, mean; Usually used to refer to a woman.

“Suplada” is a Filipino is an adjective that describes women who aren't very friendly, or snobbish, or unapproachable. For. boys, who fit that description, they are called. “suplado”.

Manila, the capital of the Philippines, is a densely populated bayside city on the island of Luzon, which mixes Spanish colonial architecture with modern skyscrapers. Intramuros, a walled city in colonial times, is the heart of Old Manila. It’s home to the baroque 16th-century San Agustin Church as well as Fort Santiago, a storied citadel and former military prison.
