Tenerife vibes

The "Menceyatos" are territorial demarcations and how the island of Tenerife was divided before the arrival of the "conquistadors" in the fifteenth century. On one side of the "Plaza de la Patrona de Canarias", located in Candelaria, are bronze sculptures representing 9 "menceyes" (kings): Acaimo, mencey of Tacoronte; Adjona, mencey de Abona; Añaterve, mencey Güimar; Bencomo, king or mencey of Taoro; Beneharo, mencey of Anaga; Pelinor, mencey of Adeje; Pelicar, mencey of Icod; Romen mencey of Daute; and Tegueste, mencey of Tegueste.

The island of Tenerife is just over 300 km. away from the African continent and about 1,300 km. of Western Europe. It has and area of 2,034 km2 and rising at its center the gigantic "Pico" or mount Teide, at 3,718 meters a.s.l. But only unique beings inhabit it like the hound, the "coruja" owl, the Canary Island wall gecko, the Kestrel, the loggerhead turtle and the Canarian goat, among many others.

This amazing photo of a bay in the Tenerife coastline I love the way the rocks act as a border around the sea. In all the nooks and cranny's of the rock I found loads of little Red Rock Crabs.

This is a lovely view of the Tenerife Coast the sea crashing against the rocks and the palm trees against the blue sky is so nice to sea.

Mount Teide is a volcano located in the national park on Tenerife in the Canary Islands, it was declared a national park on 22 January 1954. Mount Teide is 3,718m summit is the highest point in Spain and the highest point above sea level in the islands of the Atlantic. At 7,500 m from its base on the ocean floor, it is the third highest volcano in the world. Taken in 2009 this was a coach trip around Teide on a beautiful warm clear day.

Tenerife Guanche La Isla de Tenerife se encuentra a algo más de 300 Kms. del continente africano y a unos 1300 Kms. de la Europa Occidental. Tiene 2.034 Km2 de superficie y alzándose en su centro el gigantesco Pico del Teide, con sus 3.718 metros de altura. El Guanche tiene su territorio de montañas, valles, barrancos y costas, un cielo lleno de estrellas y el mar como frontera. Adornado por Dragos y Tajinastes, Podencos,  Corujas, Perenquenes, Cernícalos, tortugas boba y cabras entre otras bellezas de la isla.

The term "Guanche" ("wan-tche") was the way in which the first settlers of Tenerife referred to themselves, and was applied to the natives of the other Canary Islands for many years. Thus, the "Guanche" would originally come from the Berber language, from the words "wa n" (A) "shen" (shen), which would mean 'the (man) who is from "Ashenshen"' (Achineche / Chineche, Tenerife). This design (T-shirt), represents the birth of our character, "the Guanche", symbolizing the arrival to his new "world of caricature".

Como todo lo que hemos encontrado de los guanches, el matrimonio es otro misterio, lo que sabemos de el es gracias a algunos de los investigadores que más se han aproximado a este rito en sus escritos, como el padre Espinosa, Abreu Galindo o el mismo José Luis Concepción.
