The Record Store Stickers
Description: Skunk Records is a Long Beach, California based record label that was founded by Michael "Miguel" Happoldt and Bradley Nowell in 1990. Skunk is affiliated with the spinoff label Cornerstone R.A.S. The inspiration for forming a record label came to Happoldt in 1989 as a way to release music for his band the Ziggens. Happoldt met Nowell shortly thereafter, who insisted on having Sublime backed by the nascent label. Happoldt was selective in choosing other acts, which later included Slightly Stoopid, Juice Bros, Philieano, Toko Tasi, and Paulie Nugent.

Description: Power Records released a series of Planet of the Apes stories using their 'Book & Record' format in 1974, each of which covered one of the four films that had been released at the time. Like other Book & Record offerings, the sets included a 45 rpm record and a comic book. The record narrated the comic through sound effects, audio dialogue, and a backing soundtrack. In addition to the 45 rpm versions, a 12" 33 rpm compilation record combining all four Arthur P. Jacobs films adapted by Power Records. Like other Power Records' Book & Record sets, the Planet of the Apes are highly desirable collectables, not just due to their pop culture value, but because complete sets with both the record and comic are hard to come by.

Description: Helmet is an alternative metal band formed in New York City in 1989, quickly earning a reputation for their crushing riffs, unconventional rhythms, and stripped-down, precision-driven sound. After releasing their debut album, Strap It On, in 1990, the band signed with a major label and returned with Meantime on June 23, 1992. Powered by tracks like "Unsung" and "In the Meantime," the album reached No. 68 on the Billboard 200 and received widespread critical acclaim, even if its commercial success was modest at the time. In the decades since its release, Meantime has come to be regarded as one of the defining heavy albums of the 1990s, influencing generations of bands. This design is based on a limited-run tee from the 1992 Meantime tour.

Description: The Rotters were a punk band from Los Angeles, California that set out to create vile and disgusting music. The band formed in late '77, though they didn't actually play live until '78, which is the same year they released a single called 'Sit On My Face Stevie Nix.' Random punk bands focused on creating vile music rarely get much attention, but the band not only weaseled their way into L.A.'s biggest rock station, but managed to get their single played on the air before being kicked out. The track was a hit, and people were calling in to request it, and asking record stores to stock it, but not everyone was happy. The then boyfriend of the subject of the song got kind of upset, and started threatening record stores and radio stations...
