Yesterday I was given some pomegranates - beautiful, breathtaking objects that they are - so of course I had to make something of them. (Thank you, Ryan and Karen!) A lot of things about this pattern are outside of my comfort zone, I tend towards blues & greens, soft pastels and neutrals, and this is, well, red and magenta and super contrasty and bold. My adviser here at home (by which I mean my wonderful daughter) tells me it's okay to work outside of my comfort zone, sometimes.

Work 32 for my 52 week challenge. : )

We have just moved halfway across the country to a new town and a new home and I am so happy to be settled and back online and making new work!! Feels like a fresh start. : ) Hand drawn with pencil, coloured digitally.

A soft and simple pattern to get me back into the swing of things. I took ten days off from my artwork to move house, it's been very busy and I can't honestly say that the last box is unpacked yet, but ten days away from here was all I could take... Here's to new beginnings, new houses, pencil doodles, honeycomb patterns and hexagons!

Yesterday, I got it into my head to paint a hexagon pattern BY HAND ... Don't know what I was thinking. Trying to make my inner perfectionist crazy, perhaps? Mission accomplished, then. :)

A hand drawn, flower & leaf pattern in a Moroccan shape. I used pencil to make this zentangle-style Moroccan pattern, then coloured & finished it in Photoshop. The hardest part is choosing the colours, I couldn't choose just one colourway so this may turn into a series. Definitely two versions, maybe more. : )

This is a sketch I did years ago, in my BRB years (Before Red Bubble) of "Tane"infinitane at three years old. I drew it with coloured pencil crayons and really enjoyed doing it. But then, because I didn't know what else to do with it, I just left it lying around tucked into a folder somewhere for years. (Tane is 9 years old now.)

I like doodles, I like flowers, I love Moroccan patterns. Putting them all in one place was very satisfying for me. (Although it took an age to do!) And then, I couldn't choose just one colour version, so this is the fourth of four. : )

I am no landscape photographer. But I dream. So, if you're a landscape photographer, and you're looking at this, and you have advice for me...Bring it on!!! I especially need advice regarding ND Grad filters which I don't own yet, which I really want to get. My budget is limited and I can't get lots, so which ones are most useful? Please help!! This was taken in South Africa, between Clarens and Fouriesburg, close to our new (tiny) farm. It is the view looking from South Africa into Lesotho.
