Vevey is a Swiss town on Lake Geneva. On the promenade, marked by a giant fork protruding from the lake, is the nutrition museum Alimentarium, with culinary objects and workshops. A Charlie Chaplin statue is nearby. This one-time Vevey resident is also celebrated at Chaplin’s World, on his former country estate. The Musée Jenisch is dedicated to art on paper, with works by Dürer, Goya, Degas, Picasso and others.

Sicily, the largest Mediterranean island, is just off the "toe" of Italy's "boot." Its rich history is reflected in sites like the Valley of the Temples, the well-preserved ruins of 7 monumental, Doric-style Greek temples, and in the Byzantine mosaics at the Cappella Palatina, a former royal chapel in capital city Palermo. On Sicily’s eastern edge is Mount Etna, one of Europe’s highest active volcanoes.

Home of the famous Bronte sisters this part of the village which they lived in has been preserved and one can really feel how it must have felt for the sisters when tehy were writing their classics like Wuthering Heights. (Not that i know they were living here when that particualr novel was written). A great place to visit whenever you are in the West Yorkshire region. The West Riding of Yorkshire, or part of it at least, can be seen in the distance. Originally a photogrpah transformed into an oil painting effect using GMX Painter.

Main Street Whistler is an art print I created using a fauvist oil technique. This technique focuses on bold brush strokes, abstract shapes and bright colors creating a modern look. The setting is Whistler, British Columbia, a popular ski destination in the winter. The time of year is fall when all of the leaves of the trees are at their peak color. Whistler is a pedestrian friendly skiing village. The architecture is reminiscent of a Swiss village. It is nestled in a beautiful valley surrounded by mountains housing the ski slopes. The Sloop Inn, Porthgain Number of views as of 14th August 2018 = 5050. Porthgain is a small, coastal village on the Pembrokeshire Coast mid-way between Fishguard and St Davids, in South West Wales. In the early twentieth century Porthgain was an industrial port with nearby quarries and a large brick works on the quay-side. The village pub, the Sloop Inn, dates from the 18th century and is open for food and liquid refreshments every day of the year except for Christmas Day. Date: 8th June 2012.

Wengen is a Swiss Alpine village in the Bernese Oberland region. It's known for its timber chalets and belle époque hotels. The Jungfraubahn railway climbs to Jungfrau summit, with views of the Aletsch Glacier from the Sphinx observation deck. A cable car reaches Männlichen’s slopes and trails, with views of Eiger and Mönch peaks. South of Wengen are the Trümmelbach glacier waterfalls, accessed via underground paths.

The Valais (Wallis in German) is a canton in southern Switzerland. It's home to the pyramid-shaped Matterhorn mountain, upscale Alpine resorts and upper Rhône River Valley vineyards. The resort town of Zermatt, at the foot of the Matterhorn, offers numerous ski slopes and hiking on old mule traders' routes. It’s also a starting point for the scenic Glacier Express train. In the east is the huge Aletsch Glacier,Winter ,Wallis, Schweiz,

Pontresina is a mountain village flanked by the Bernina massif, in eastern Switzerland. It’s known for its Belle Epoque hotels and traditional Engadine stone houses with decorated facades. The Burial Church of Santa Maria has medieval wall paintings. The Museum Alpin’s hunting gear, minerals and photos trace the culture and geology of the Alps. To the southwest, the Roseg Valley has trails, forests and deer.

Austria is a German-speaking country in Central Europe, characterized by mountain villages, baroque architecture, Imperial history and rugged Alpine terrain. Vienna, its Danube River capital, is home to the Schönbrunn and Hofburg palaces. It has counted Mozart, Strauss and Freud among its residents. The country’s other notable regions include the northern Bohemian Forest, Traunsee Lake and eastern hillside vineyards.

Switzerland is a mountainous Central European country, home to numerous lakes, villages and the high peaks of the Alps. Its cities contain medieval quarters, with landmarks like capital Bern’s Zytglogge clock tower and Lucerne’s wooden chapel bridge. The country is also known for its ski resorts and hiking trails. Banking and finance are key industries, and Swiss watches and chocolate are world renowned.

Zermatt, in southern Switzerland’s Valais canton, is a mountain resort renowned for skiing, climbing and hiking. The town, at an elevation of around 1,600m, lies below the iconic, pyramid-shaped Matterhorn peak. Its main street, Bahnhofstrasse is lined with boutique shops, hotels and restaurants, and also has a lively après-ski scene. There are public outdoor rinks for ice-skating and curling. The Matterhorn is a mountain of the Alps, straddling the main watershed and border between Switzerland and Italy.

Villars-sur-Ollon is a village in the western Swiss Vaud Alps. Trails include the Bretaye to Ollon route, with views of Lake Geneva, vineyards and the Leysin ski resort. A cable car from Col du Pillon ascends to Les Diablerets Massif, home to the Glacier 3000 mountain station, Peak Walk suspension bridge and Matterhorn views. To the south, Bex has a working salt mine and a narrow-gauge railway connecting it to Aigle.

Interlaken is a traditional resort town in the mountainous Bernese Oberland region of central Switzerland. Built on a narrow stretch of valley, between the emerald-colored waters of Lake Thun and Lake Brienz, it has old timber houses and parkland on either side of the Aare River. Its surrounding mountains, with dense forests, alpine meadows and glaciers, has numerous hiking and skiing trails.
