Voltas Voltaic Pile Stickers
Main Tag:
Description: A detailed scientific illustration of a tall stack of alternating zinc, brine and copper discs wired to a bright spark, the voltaic pile of 1800, set against a deep dark background. In 1800 Alessandro Volta stacked discs of zinc and copper separated by cardboard soaked in salt water and obtained a steady electric current: the first battery. The unit of voltage, the volt, honors him. A gift idea for engineers, makers and electronics students, and a fitting piece for a workshop, desk area or study.
