The Necromancers are an Extradimensional Species inhabiting an unforgiving Plane adjacent to The Hundred Year Coast. They have recently been making incursions to that Archipelago Paradise, in search of the Ectoplasm that occurs there naturally; perhaps to power their arcane experiments, or, almost certainly - to stick in their pipes and smoke it.
