It’s okay to be sad. Sadness is human. Sadness is real. But the sadness is just a moment, it’s temporary. Just like happiness and hunger it has a purpose. Sadness let’s us process an event in our lives. If we don’t process the sadness and try to stifle it, it will resurface in other, more harmful ways. So be sad and take care of yourself in the sadness.
Seeing someone sad is uncomfortable and awkward. You can’t always fix the sadness and you shouldn’t always try to. Sometimes you just have to awkwardly and uncomfortably sit in the sadness and just let them know they’re not alone. Let your friends be sad. Let yourself be sad. It’s okay to be sad.
