Approaching Storm at the Beach by Debra Martz Not every day at the beach turns out to be perfect....weather can change in an instant. And that is exactly what happened on this summer day. One minute sitting and relaxing with a book under the umbrella and suddenly this storm approaches. Quickly started grabbing books, tables, chairs, etc and putting in the back of the truck but got pretty soaked by the downpour of rain...fortunately made it into the truck in time before the lightning strikes began. Rocky Island is near Seaton Sluice in Northumberland on the North East coast of England. This image was shot on a bitterly cold January morning just after a storm with a hind of blue in the cloudy sky and a slight covering of snow on the clifftop footpath.

While driving in Co, Clare, Ireland, I came across the ruins of an old church. It was off the beaten track, but a delight to find. Later I did some research to find that the church had been called St. John's, but I've no idea when it fell into ruin. From what I could tell the cemetery was still active, evidenced by the fact that many graves were located within the old wall, some even with fresh flowers. The day was wet and blustery with fresh winds off the nearby Atlantic. Even for the wildness of the day, the place was peaceful.

Last night we had an amazing lightning storm, it has been building up for days now and finally let loose just after sunset. After getting some photos at Mindarie I headed into the city to see what I could get... this is the result of 4 exposures overlaid each other.
