The Vac loves old posters, especially old announcement and propaganda posters. The US Government releases all of its poster style work – a few exceptions exist, ala the NASA meatball logo – into the public domain, which means the Vac gets to work with them. It’s incredibly grateful for the opportunity. Starting with the WPA, these posters are artistically and procerudally converted to vector for scaling to a variety of prints and products. 1) Posters are converted from source format to an editable format if necessary. 2) During conversion the sRGB colorspace is applied. 3) The posters are cropped where necessary to remove areas of scan/photograph that didn’t include the map itself, namely scanner deck and similar. 4) Where ...
