Since 2014, the brigade has participated in the War in Eastern Ukraine. In the summer of 2014, brigade units fought heavy battles on the Russian-Ukrainian border, in Mariupol, and in the winter of 2016, in the Avdiivka industrial area. January 29 - February 3, 2017 the brigade fought heavy battles. The fighters of the brigade managed to drive out the Russian formations from the Almaz position in the gray zone. Captain Andrei Kizilo died in the battle. He was posthumously awarded the title of Hero of Ukraine. The Order of Bogdan Khmelnitsky 3rd class was awarded to 6 fighters, one of them posthumously.
