Voice to Parliament - Vote Yes The voice would advise the Australian parliament and government on matters relating to the social, spiritual and economic wellbeing of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people. It would be a permanent body representing First Nations people that would advise government about policies affecting Indigenous people. The Voice would be an advisory body, but it would not have powers to overrule parliament, commonly known as "veto" powers. The Uluru Statement calls for the 'establishment of a First Nations Voice enshrined in the Constitution'.
